Last spring, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation overhauled, expanding the information and data available to the community and making it an even more efficient tool to research central Oklahoma charities. Not only does the upgraded platform provide information and descriptions of charitable organizations’ programs, mission, leadership, financials and Form 990s, but now you can also utilize census data to determine where our community’s needs are the greatest.

With the interactive central Oklahoma map featuring more than 325 nonprofits, you can see where charities are located and what areas they serve, but by overlaying the available data, you begin to see an even bigger picture. By applying filters such as zip codes and a need for access to health care, you can discover the percentage of the population receiving Medicaid, then find nonprofits in the area working to impact that need. In addition, you can take advantage of the guided tutorial for step-by-step instructions on how to search, filter and utilize all the tools has to offer.

As your Community Foundation, we want to help you fulfill your charitable vision. Prior to publishing, all profiles must provide a copy of their 501(c)(3) determination letter, three years of board-approved financials and their current operating board in addition to being thoroughly vetted by our staff, so you can feel confident in the organizations you find. We encourage you to take advantage of this powerful tool as you plan your charitable impact.
