Why is it important that the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations?

U.S. Community Foundations National Standards logoOur compliance distinguishes the Oklahoma City Community Foundation as a trusted nonprofit organization of integrity. The standards process is rigorous and requires that our organization meets or exceeds the 41 National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations as established by the Council on Foundations.

In 2006, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation became the first community foundation in Oklahoma and among the first 50 in the country to be confirmed as meeting the standards. This “stamp of approval” identifies us as a community foundation that is not only operating within the laws and regulations required but that we also follow what is identified as “best practices” in our operations.
