The Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF) has offered a dollar-for-dollar, $50,000 endowment match that will provide our community’s youth with underwriting to help them participate in all the wonderful programs and activities that will take place at the Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center when it opens.
This fund will remain permanently endowed at the Community Foundation and will provide an annual distribution in line with our Charitable Organization Endowment policy, currently set at 5% of the market value of the fund, averaged over 12 quarters. Investment performance above 5% will be reinvested into the corpus of the fund and continue to grow in value.
Any member of the community may contribute to the fund. The Community Foundation will acknowledge all gifts to the fund with a letter to the donor, copying the City’s fund representatives.
There will be a $10 per month membership fee for youth to access the Center when it opens. Using the Community Foundation’s spending policy of 5% a year:
Your gift of $5,000 will provide:
Underwriting for MANY children to participate in sports lessons, wellness and life skills classes. Could provide up to 50 memberships every year in perpetuity.
Your gift of $2,500 will provide:
Eight-week swimming lessons for three children every year.
Your gift of $1,000 will provide:
