Community Programs & Grants The mission of the Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation, a nonprofit public charity, is to improve the quality of life in selected rural Oklahoma communities. The Foundation intends to meet this mission by providing opportunities to enhance those rural Oklahoma communities through education, community resources, public libraries, arts and beautification. The Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation has three different grant programs that promote education, community appearance, economic development and art and the humanities. The Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation targets the Oklahoma communities of Coalgate, Caddo, Clayton, Mountain View, Apache, Durant and Altus. The communities were selected by the founding donor of the Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation. Since its inception in 1995, the Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation has awarded more than $542,000 in grants to improve the quality of life in rural Oklahoma.
