OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- The initial construction work for the new Oklahoma City Community Foundation office building at 1000 N. Broadway Ave. is underway. Timberlake Construction has completed the building pad and will begin pier drilling within the next week.

The 18,000-square-foot office building is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete. Project architect is Hornbeek Blatt, an Edmond, Okla.-based firm.

Key features of the facility:

Community Room
A 9,000-square-foot Community Room will be available for charitable organizations to use for meetings and events. The room will feature audio visual support as well as a catering kitchen and a separate entrance.

Donor Plaza/Gallery
A prominent feature will be an elliptical-shaped outdoor plaza at the corner of North Broadway Avenue and Northwest 10th Street that complements the decorative paved intersections of Automobile Alley. Visitors entering the building through the outdoor plaza will walk into a gallery that connects the Community Room with the administrative portion of the building. The gallery will offer opportunities for donor recognition as well as special exhibits and receptions.

Parking
The project site will provide adequate parking on the east side of the building to support staff and visitors.

Location
The new building will be easily accessible for donors and visitors coming from I-235 and I-40.
