OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- Marcus Hotels and Resorts, the new management company for the Skirvin Hilton, presented a $25,000 gift to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation during a ceremony for the historic hotel on October 13.
“Our chairman, Steve Marcus, has learned of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation’s legacy of working with individuals and organizations to benefit the Oklahoma City community,” said Bill Ottto, president of Marcus Hotels and Resorts. “Just as the Skirvin hotel will be forever treasured as a valued asset to this community, we know the Community Foundation’s impact will continue to be experienced by generations of Oklahomans.”
The donation was given as an unrestricted gift in an effort to assist the foundation in addressing some of the most pressing needs in Oklahoma City.
"On behalf of the Trustees of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, I want to thank Mr. Otto and Marcus Hotels & Resorts for their generosity," said Nancy B. Anthony, executive director, Oklahoma City Community Foundation. "Just as the revitalization of the Skirvin Hotel is a gift to the Oklahoma City, this $25,000 contribution will benefit our community for many years to come. It is through gifts such as this that the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is able to meet the changing needs and opportunities within our community."
