The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has determined three areas of special grantmaking emphasis: 1. Access to primary healthcare for uninsured individuals, specifically addressing the overuse of hospital emergency rooms, the lack of preventive care and early diagnostic services and coordinationn of volunteer efforts through community clinics. 2. Programs for children in the non-school hours that continue the efforts developed with After School Options. 3. Better coordination and case management of social services and programs that encourage self-sufficiency. Coordination of services among numerous small organization providers, faith communities and volunteer groups was identified as a need within all four information meetings held as part of the focus area process. |
