Lawton Community Foundation Scholars
In 2001, the Lawton Community Foundation launched its Scholars Award program to raise the expectations and commitment of area high school students to pursue educational opportunities beyond high school. Since its inception, the program has awarded more than $125,000 in scholarships to worthy students. In 2011, 11 students each received a $1,500 award.

| High School Criteria | Graduating seniors of the following high schools are eligible to apply: Altus, Cache, Duncan, Elgin, Frederick, Lawton High School, Lawton Eisenhower, and Lawton MacArthur. |
| College Criteria | Any accredited public and private (not proprietary) educational institution in the United States including technology centers. |
| Other Criteria | Participation in at least one extra-curricular activity or community service program. |
