Recipients of the Lawton Community Foundation Scholarships received awards in the amount of $1,500 each. The Lawton Noon Lions Club also presented a scholarship of $1,000 per year for four years. The Lawton Community Foundation scholarship committee selects the scholarship recipients with the assistance of the high school counselors and a committee at each school.

"The Trustees of the Lawton Community Foundation are pleased to support this scholarship program," says Gene Love, president of the Lawton Community Foundation. "It is our goal to encourage Lawton area students to attain the highest level of education and training, and we hope Lawton area residents will help support the program so it continues to meet the educational needs of our community."

The Lawton Community Foundation began its scholarship program in 2001 and has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships since the program's inception. In 2004, the Lawton Noon Lions Club joined the efforts by establishing a permanent scholarship endowment fund with the Lawton Community Foundation.
