Advised Funds

An Advised Fund through the Lawton Community Foundation is a permanent endowment fund that allows the donor to suggest how the fund’s earnings should be distributed. Distributions can be made to any nonprofit organization or qualified charity.

Advised Funds give donors the flexibility to respond to changing needs and interests, to make distributions according to a time frame which is best for them, and to respond to opportunities and issues which may arise in the future. A minimum contribution is required to establish an Advised Fund and subsequent contributions can be made.

The Lawton Community Foundation offers three types of Advised Funds to meet the needs of donors with different charitable goals and varying gift size.

Legacy Fund- the simplest way to establish a permanent charitable fund and a smart alternative to private foundations. $10,000 minimum required to establish a Legacy Fund.

Gift Fund- the most flexible vehicle for donors with a long-term time horizon. $10,000 minimum required to establish a Gift Fund.
