As part of a long-range planning effort, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation Trustees are currently evaluating the granting programs. We anticipate revisions to be completed in time for the April 1 deadline. The next grant deadline for grant programs will be April 1, 2009. Thank you.
The Fund for Oklahoma City assists organizations in enhancing services and programs that meet the changing needs of the community. Grants awarded through the Fund for Oklahoma City assist good organizations doing important projects that impact the community.

Program Goals and Areas of Interest
The grant request should be focused on a documented need or opportunity that has a community wide impact, primarily in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The project should be outside of the normal operating budget and activities of the requesting organization. The grant can be used to support program expenses for a new or special program or activity, a significant expansion of an existing program, or unique opportunity or need.
1) The 501(c)3 organization requesting the grant must be a capable organization with a strong, established Board of Directors and expertise in its stated mission.
2) The project must be a broad-based program open to the community that looks beyond the institutional needs of the organization and its client base.
3) Preference will be given to new programs based on a documented community need, clearly identifiable enhancements or expansions, or outreach to new groups particularly those that fall within the Oklahoma City Community Foundation's current grantmaking focus areas.
Projects not funded with a Fund for Oklahoma City Grant:
Operational phases of established programs
Capital purposes (purchasing, remodeling, or furnishing of facilities and equipment except as part of a programmatic effort)
Separate budget line items labeled as indirect or overhead costs
Development or fundraising campaigns
Endowment Funds
Academic Research Projects

Application Process
1. You must contact Nancy Anthony at 405.606.2900 or Gayle Farley at 405.606.2910 to determine the eligibility of your project a minimum of three to four weeks prior to the grant deadline to ensure you fully understand the guidelines before you develop your written proposal.
2. Complete the Organizational Information Form including attachments requested. Questions must be completed in the space provided.

3. Submit a Proposal no more than five pages in length and in the order indicated. (See Guidelines for Narrative)

Completed application packets must be received by 5:00 p.m. of the deadline date. Application packets may also be hand delivered. Faxed or emailed applications forms will not be accepted.
Review and Decision Process
The Community Programs Committee will review all grant proposals that are prepared according to the guidelines outlined above. Grant recommendations will be submitted for approval to the Board of Trustees at meetings in February, May and September. All applicants will be notified of the Trustees' decision.

Grant approvals from the January 2, 2008 deadline:
Skyline Urban Ministry -- funds of up to $15,000 will support the establishment of an after school program at Epworth United Methodist Church.
Community Health Center/Mary Mahoney Memorial Health Center -- $50,000 to support the hiring of staff for a medical home clinic for the uninsured and underinsured.
Grant approvals from the July 1, 2007 deadline:
Oklahoma City Museum of Art -- $25,000 to develop a new media-based interpretive, educational initiative to be debuted during the Roman Art from the Louvre exhibit.
