| Description | The George M. Murrell Home was built in 1845 and is Oklahoma's only remaining antebellum plantation home. It was the residence of George Murrell and his wife Minerva Ross, niece of Cherokee Principal Chief John Ross. The site is a National Historic Landmark, a National Trail of Tears Historic Site, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Nell Bradshaw endowment provides for interior restoration and preservation efforts, including maintenance of original furnishings and of the historic home. |
